    Pop-up Art Exhibition: 18-19 March 2022

We worship a God who is the ultimate Creator of all things - from the tiniest details of a butterfly's wings to the most spectacular sunsets - and so, we want to celebrate the arts and creativity as a means of honouring Him, whose image we are made to reflect.

With this in mind, we will be hosting a pop-up art exhibition to showcase the creations of local artists in our community, including some of the talented young artists from the Morgenster farm community's New Day Aftercare, who have been receiving art lessons from a passionate and kindhearted professional artist in our PVC family. You can expect to see a wonderful array of original artworks from up-and-coming and established artists.

See the image below for dates and times. Entry for viewing is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available, cappuccinos and hot chocolates are sold for R20 each.

Are you an artist, based in or around the Durbanville/Bellville area?

We'd like to invite you to exhibit with us. Space is limited and submissions will be accepted on a first come, first served basis, however preference will be given to artists who have not yet had a solo exhibition. Kindly take note of the terms and conditions below.

    1. While light refreshments and eats will be available for purchase, we would also like to provide some free of charge for everyone who comes to view our work, each artist is therefore required to contribute:

    2. R 150 towards the cost of hosting/catering (payment to be arranged no later than Thursday, 10 March 2022)

    3. 2 bottles of sparkling wine or juice

    4. Each artist is responsible for setting up their own display within their designated area (this includes bringing their own easels, tables, etc.) on Friday, 18 March between 13:00 and 15:00; and to pack away and clean their area on Saturday, 19 March after the exhibition has closed from 15:00 to 17:00.

    5. Each artist is responsible for handling any sales of their artworks (no commission will be charged).

    6. All artworks are displayed at your own risk, Protea Valley Church will not be held liable for any damage or loss to artworks or property.

    7. This is a family-friendly exhibition - no depictions of nudes, profanity, or blasphemy will be permitted.

To submit your application to exhibit, please send an email with the subject: "Artist Submission" to info@proteavalleychurch.org with your name and contact details, a short bio (optional), and an example of your work. By signing up to exhibit with us you are agreeing to the above terms and conditions. We reserve the right to reject any submissions if we feel that they do not accord with the above.

Are you a patron of the arts?

We'd love to be able to waive the costs for artists to exhibit with us. If you'd like to sponsor an artist or a specific amount of money to help cover the cost of catering and hiring of equipment, please get in touch with us at info@proteavalleychurch.org or send a WhatsApp message to +27 64 675 3449.

    Pastor's Note - 19 January 2022

    In this week's Pastor's Note:

Brent talks about the importance of rest in the midst of our busyness.

Kids Church is back this Sunday :D at our 8 AM and 10 AM services. RSVP (for adults and kids) by booking your tickets here.

We will be hosting our first Family Gathering for 2022 on Tuesday evening, 1 February, from 7-8 PM. If you're a member of PVC we'd expect you to be there, please, so save the date in your calendars. We'd like to share with you what God has laid on our hearts and the plans we have put in place to fulfil some of the vision and mission that he has given us. It will be a time for praying, discerning and being together, and we'll also be talking about and approving our budget for the year ahead.
