Describe a time when you chose the wrong direction, whether it was driving, in a relationship or some other situation.

Worship

Follow Brent’s idea of prayer from last Sunday. Invite people to pray prayers of:

Adoration

Confession

Thanksgiving

Supplication

Word (Discipleship):

Scripture reading: Ephesians 2:1-10

1. A bumper sticker I remember seeing often as a child was “Jesus saves” What does Jesus save us from? (use the passage to help answer)

2. Do you ever feel like you need to earn God’s favour or grace?

3. The passage helps us understand two other aspects of salvation: 3.1 What are we saved by? 3.2 What are we saved for?

4. We are not saved by works, but our salvation leads to good works. Can you identify one good work that God is asking you to live out/practice at the moment?

Works (Mission)

As the year begins to wind down, have a conversation as a group as to how you can make space for new people to join in 2022?

What is the wisest saying you have ever heard?

Worship

Play a worship song that you feel is relevant to where your group is at the moment. Open in prayer.

Word (Discipleship):

Scripture reading: Ephesians 1: 15-23

1. Paul gives thanks for the believers at Ephesus. Spend time sharing your gratitude for the group you are in.

2. Why do you think the very first thing listed in Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians (he says “I KEEP asking”) is the spirit of wisdom and revelation to know Jesus better? (v. 17)

3. What does it mean for Jesus to fill everything in every way? (v.23)

4. Paul prayed for his fellow believers to know more of God and the hope we have in Christ. End your time praying for each other.

Works (Mission)

Think of a space in your world that could do with more of Jesus (street, school, work etc.)

Go on a short prayer walk this week, simply praying for Jesus to fill this space.

(You could play the song “I speak Jesus” as you go 😊)
