    Small group discussion notes - 28 November - 4 December 2021

If you weren't at the live service this past Sunday you can listen to the sermon here.

    Welcome (Community)

If someone wrote a one-sentence summary of your life, what would it say?

    Worship

    Light a candle.

Holding it, share one thing you are grateful for, pass on, and so you go round the group.

    Open in prayer.

    Word (Discipleship):

    Scripture reading: Ephesians 4:1-16

    1. Take an inventory of your life, thinking and behaviours: ✓ What do I need to put off? ✓ What do I need to put on?

    2. How do you personally go about renewing your mind? (vs. 23)

    3. Why is it that the Bible tells us to not let the sun go down on our wrath, and how does unresolved anger affect us? (vs. 26)

    4. Being honest, what does vs. 29 challenge in your life? (Gossip? Swearing? Criticism? Negativity?.....)

    5. What do you think it takes to grieve the Holy Spirit? (vs. 30)

    Works (Mission)

With us not having a Christmas Day service in the building, we are encouraging everyone to reach out and involve at least one other person in our festivities. Spend this week considering who you will invite, and then reach out to them. Next week feedback to the group how it went?

    Sunday Service - 28 November 2021

    LIVE SERVICE

Last week we heard about the call to unity within the church, now in Part 7 of our Ephesians series Paul gets down into the nitty-gritty of our new life in Jesus Christ. It's a complete turn-around from our old way of living, which requires us to unlearn our bad habits and attitudes, and actively replace them with new ones, ones that are Christlike. You might wonder how such a change could even be possible, as the saying goes: "You can't teach an old dog new tricks". But the wonder revealed in this passage shows us that our old ways were actually a corruption of our design - this new life that we are called to live... this is what we were truly made for.

Ephesians verse-by-verse, challenges believers to live out the gospel. If the people of our city, of our school, of our family, are going to hear the gospel - it's going to be from our mouth. Encounter Ephesians and get swept up into the story of Jesus.

Read this week’s Bible passage: Ephesians 4:17-32 [NIV]

CLICK HERE to RSVP (book tickets) for our live and in person Worship Service this Sunday at 10 AM where we'll hear Part 7 of our Ephesians - Verse by Verse sermon series.

There will be no 8 AM services for now, these will likely only resume later in January.

    ONLINE SERVICE

If you're unable to meet in person, you are welcome to join our online service which will be featuring the previous week's live sermon, premiering on Sunday at 9 AM (CAT). Watch it here on YouTube or Facebook<-- Click on the links to tune in for the premiere.

In Part 6 of our Ephesians series we continue Paul's flow of thought from knowing and understanding the love of God to actually living it out as a Christian community. The unity of the church is a central theme in the book of Ephesians. But since we all start out as spiritual infants in Christ, this love and unity of the Spirit does not come naturally to our sin-tainted hearts; it will require some collective effort, humility, and patience to grow and mature into a unified body of Christlike believers. Thankfully, Jesus has supplied us with everything we need to fulfil this calling together.

Ephesians verse-by-verse, challenges believers to live out the gospel. If the people of our city, of our school, of our family, are going to hear the gospel - it's going to be from our mouth. Encounter Ephesians and get swept up into the story of Jesus.
