ELDERSHIP TEAM

Protea Valley Church is an elder-led church with Jesus Christ as the head of the church. The team pray regularly for the church and ensure that God’s people are equipped to go and be the church in everyday life. Together with an outstanding staff team and ministry leaders the elders serve the congregation and community.

Brent Russell

LEAD ELDER AND PREACHER

Brent has been lead pastor of PVC since 2005 and is married to Kerry. He has two sons: Matthew and Alex.

Grant Hopkins

LEAD ELDER AND PREACHER

Grant has been with PVC since 2012 and is married to Liszl. They have three boys: Nathan, Tim and Ben.

 

Grant also heads up our small groups and connects groups.

Johan Carstens

ELDER

Johan is married to Liesl, and they have three children: Daniel, Amy-Lee and Lisa-Jo.

Liesl Carstens

ELDER

Liesl co-ordinates all communication at the church and heads up the Kid's Church Worship Team. She is married to Johan. They have three children: Daniel, Amy-Lee and Lisa-Jo.

Brendon Hoctor

ELDER

Brendon has been an elder for many years at PVC and is married to Diane, who serves on staff. They have two boys: Nicholas and Samuel.

Sean Currie

ELDER & COORDINATOR

Sean is married to Michelle and they have a daughter, Sadie.

 

Sean is also on staff at PVC as coordinator and heads up our worship ministry.

Philip Fouche

ELDER & SESSION CLERK

Philip recently joined the elder team and is also our session clerk.

Tallis Calmeyer

ELDER

Tallis is married to Marina. They have two boys: Ethan and Joshua.

 

Tallis can also be seen many Sundays in the service as our MC and host for Sunday mornings.
