Gardening Ministry
Growing community, faith, and vegetables - one garden at a time!

Our purpose
We are called to serve as Jesus served, and sometimes that means rolling up our sleeves and getting our hands dirty. The Gardening Ministry provides a relaxed, welcoming space where people of all ages can connect, share life stories, build friendships, and grow in faith together. By giving our time, talents, and treasures, we aim to make a positive impact in the lives of others and the communities we serve.

What we offer
Our ministry is active in several community projects, where we not only plant gardens but also plant seeds of hope and learning:

-
Morgenster Farm: We work with children at the Aftercare Centre to plant and maintain a vegetable garden, teaching them about sustainable gardening. We also assist parents on the farm with their own home vegetable gardens, empowering families to grow their own food.

-
Trevor Manual School in Fisantekraal: Partnering with the Young Adults Ministry and Mercy Aids, we create a safe and welcoming environment through gardening, fostering relationships and serving the Fisantekraal community.

-
The Hub: Our team also helps maintain the garden at The Hub, creating a beautiful, green space for our church community to enjoy.
Join us
We meet once or twice a term for each of our garden projects:

-
Morgenster Farm: Wednesdays, 3pm - 5pm
-
Fisantekraal: Saturdays, 9am - 12pm
-
The Hub: Weekday mornings

These gatherings are great opportunities to connect, learn, and serve alongside others who are passionate about gardening and community.
Get involved
PVC’s gardening projects need support through both hands-on help and resources. If you have a heart for gardening or would like to donate tools, compost, seeds, seedlings, or financial support, we welcome your contributions. Your generosity helps us teach gardening skills, support communities, and grow gardens that nourish both body and spirit.
