Next Gen Pastor

About the role

The Next-Gen Pastor is a full time role that will provide leadership to the various volunteers and ministry teams involved with children and youth, from 3-year old's to twenty somethings. They will find ways to offer support to parents in discipling their own children. They will carry out the church's mission and vision, being strategically minded, and intentional with recruiting and development of teams within the scope of the next generation of Jesus followers.

 

The Next-Gen Pastor will also possess a pastoral heart that can lead volunteers, parents, and kids/students in a relational ministry style as they serve as the chief communicator and champion in these areas. The role requires working in a tight knit team ministry environment.

 

Time allocation:

  • Youth Ministry (Approximately 65% of time allocation)

  • Family Ministry (Approximately 25% of time allocation)

  • Other Pastoral responsibilities (Approximately 10% of time allocation)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral leadership and champion all Next-Gen Ministries, which includes Kids Church, Teens Sunday classes, Friday evening Youth, Youth Connect Groups, Youth Camps, Youth Band, Confirmation Group, and Young Adults ministries.

  • Lead, recruit and develop teams and volunteers so that they are operating in their strengths and being most effective in their roles on the Next-Gen ministry teams.

  • Build a ministry that supports PVC’s cornerstones of worship, discipleship, community and mission.

  • Implement a strategy for partnering with parents to reach the next generation with the gospel, disciple them in their faith, and equip them to live as fully devoted and growing disciples of Jesus.

  • Co-ordinate and lead prayer groups dedicated to praying for youth and family ministries.

  • Engage with Christian organisations such as Alpha and connect with other Pastors/Youth Pastors from local churches, as appropriate.

  • Involve PVC Youth in outreaches and encourage our Youth to support initiatives led by other PVC Ministries, such as Worship, Mission, etc.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Theologically Trained (preferably 3-year degree) from a reputable institution

  • Theologically conservative holding deeply to the essentials of the faith

  • Proven track record of involvement in Youth Ministry

  • Deeply held conviction and experience about disciple making

  • Team player

Remuneration

In line with the experience of the candidate and the responsibility of the role.
