Play Way Maker
Have an open time of prayers of worship and thanks for what Jesus has done for us.
Scripture reading: John 20: 1-18
Word (Discipleship):
1. Share what this Lent and Easter has meant to you, your faith, your connection with Jesus?
2.Read the text together – what speaks to you?
3.Which character do you identify with in the passage, and why?
4.What is bringing tears to your life at the moment?
Spend some time praying for each other.
Works (Mission)
Consider who in your life is sitting in a pool of tears? And arrange to meet up and just listen.
Children’s address: Death and resurrection
Supplies needed: Two eggs and a bowl.*
Before doing this activity, hollow out one of the eggs without cracking the shell by blowing out the contents. Hide the holes in the eggshell from your children.
Talk to your kids about how Jesus was placed in a tomb after He died. When Mary and Mary Magdalene decided to visit His tomb, they expected to find Jesus lying there – but He wasn’t in the tomb because He had risen from the dead!
Use the eggs as an illustration of what the women expected to find in the tomb, and what they actually found. Make sure they get the message – The tomb is empty, He is not here, He is Risen!
