If you haven't seen last Sunday's sermon you can watch it here.
What is the worst decision you have ever made?
Read a chapter from Psalms out loud. Have each person read one verse and then
stop after each verse for 5-10 seconds while the group thinks about what was read.
After the chapter has been completely read, have the group discuss what they liked
about the experience or what verse particularly spoke to them.
Scripture reading: 1 John 4:1-6
What does it mean to “test the spirits”?
Identify two traits that indicate if something or someone is of God (or not)? (In my view: produces faith and love)
What implications does this have for the movies we watch? Books we read? Things we give authority to over our lives?
How well do we do as western Christians, at being aware of and recognising the reality of evil in our world?
Read Hebrews 5: 11-14. Grant suggested three areas we all need to grow in as we become more discerning: - Drink the milk of Scripture - Reflect (Consider) - Ask! Discuss as a group how we can help each other be better at each of these?
Think of a ‘not yet believer’ in your life that is struggling to make a decision or is at a
crossroads of sorts. Contact them, ask how it’s going. Offer to pray for them for clarity
and a wise decision.
