In this week's sermon:
The gospel story shapes everything. It’s the map that tells us where we’ve come from and where we’re going. It shows us what Jesus has done for us, is doing for us, and will do for us. It's a story we need to own and share.
We’re in a sermon series called, “Scattered - Being the Church everywhere we go”, exploring the early days of the Church in the book of Acts. Those days were highly disruptive and uncertain times for Jesus' disciples, with persecutions and other hardships, caught in the crossfire of political and nationalistic strife - yet we see the Church experiencing explosive growth. As we find ourselves now in similarly uncertain times: our lives disrupted and scattered by the Covid-19 pandemic, with the threat of many other issues and political turmoils across our nation and world - it seems appropriate to be looking back to see what we can learn from the experiences of our ancient relatives in the faith and how God moved by His Spirit through His people to expand and strengthen His eternal kingdom throughout the temporary kingdoms of this world.
