Understanding the Love of God - How do you imagine God’s love for you? Is Jesus’ love something that neutralises your debt of sin so that you can do good and gain a positive balance of the Father’s favour towards you? In the opening lines of today’s Scripture reading Jesus says: “As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you.” Brent explains in this sermon that understanding the way the Father loves the Son is an important part of understanding how God loves us AND how this is not to be confused with how we should love God back.
