About the event
Buffelsrivier is a small, tight-knit community near Springbok, with around 1100 residents facing a tough 95% unemployment rate. Many folks here feel lonely and forgotten by the rest of South Africa. Your presence can bring them hope and joy.
During your stay, you'll live with host families, truly immersing yourself in their lives and building lasting connections.
Here's what to bring:
- Food for the weekend for you and your host family
- Consider bringing a mosquito net to leave behind – it could make a big difference for them
- But most importantly, come with an open heart, ready for eye-opening experiences and new friendships.
There are ongoing needs in the community:
- Books for the local library
- Old magazines
- Soccer balls and clothing for kids
