Care Ministry

Supporting our church family through life’s challenges with love and compassion.

Our purpose

The Care Ministry at PVC is dedicated to supporting our members during challenging times. As a Christian congregation, we believe it is our primary responsibility to extend love, support and care to our fellow members when they need it most.

What we offer

Our first line of support is through Community Groups, where members facing hardship are encouraged to seek confidential support from their group leader. If the challenge is ongoing or requires additional help, the Care Ministry steps in to provide further assistance with the member’s consent. With over 40 dedicated volunteers, our teams offer practical, emotional, and spiritual support, guiding members toward hope and strength in the Gospel.

The Care Ministry is organised into four teams, each with a specific focus:

  • Basic Care Team: Provides immediate, practical support such as meal deliveries, hospital visits, and transport assistance for those in crisis.

  • Consulting Team: A group of volunteer professionals offering expertise in areas like financial planning, legal matters, and insurance to help members navigate complex issues.

  • Emotional Support Team: Offers emotional and spiritual support for members facing personal struggles, creating a compassionate space for individuals to seek God’s guidance.

  • Seniors Care Team: Supports members aged 65+ by fostering community and connection. Seniors meet every Friday from 9:30am to 11am at The Hub for fellowship and coffee at Grounded, with a Senior’s Lunch hosted once a term.

Most support is offered one-on-one as needed, and we occasionally provide counselling training sessions based on available resources.
