Our purpose

The Prayer Ministry at PVC is dedicated to helping members deepen their prayer lives and draw strength from a life centered on prayer. We believe that practicing all aspects of prayer—worship, gratitude, seeking guidance, and confession—is essential for spiritual growth. We also recognize the power of intercessory prayer to support those in need and lift up important causes.

What we offer

Our ministry offers several ways to engage in prayer:

  • Intercessory Prayer Groups: Three weekly prayer groups focused on interceding for our church, community, and city. We pray with the hope of seeing people draw closer to Jesus.

​

  • Prayer Requests: Submit your prayer requests to our email chain at fredandphyll@gmail.com or via WhatsApp. We believe in the power of collective prayer and welcome requests from all.

​

  • Encouraging Testimonies: Hearing how God answers prayer strengthens faith. We invite those we pray for to share how God has worked in their lives.

​

Personal prayer life enrichment

We provide enriching experiences throughout the year to support members’ personal prayer journeys, including:

​

  • Quiet Mornings: Held two to three times a year at The Hub, these gatherings create space to reflect, pray, and draw closer to God in a peaceful environment.

​

  • Silent Retreat: An annual mid-year retreat focused on solitude and silence, offering three to five days to connect deeply with God. Daily conversations with a spiritual facilitator provide guidance throughout the retreat.

​

  • Prayer Workshops: Interactive sessions hosted twice a year at The Hub, where you can learn more about prayer, overcome common challenges, and discover how to pray more effectively for yourself and others.

​

All Quiet Mornings, Silent Retreats, and Prayer Workshops are advertised on the PVC website and social media platforms.


 

Join us

  • Weekly Intercessory Prayer Meetings:

    • Thursdays: Online, 7:30am - 8:30am and in-person at The Hub, 8:00am - 9:00am.

    • Sundays: Afrikaans prayer group, 6:00pm - 7:00pm at the home of Anton and Alida de Vries (contact 082 679 6921 for details).

If you’re called to join us in intercessory prayer or wish to enrich your own prayer life, all events are open to anyone seeking to grow in faith.
